In a bid to promote international business and encourage exports the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched a Niryat Mitra Mobile App.

What is Niryat Mitra Mobile App ?

The app is developed by the largest exporters organization of the country, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

Niryat Mitra app has a number of useful features including: knowledge about government policies, tariffs and export benefits details and information about latest happenings in field of export and import.

Niryat Mitra app having data of 87 countries also maps the ITC HS code of other countries with that of India, making the exporters not to bother about the HS code of any country.

The app will help in increasing the employment in the country using its Human Resource tool, the tool enables job-seekers to apply against the vacancies arising in different sectors. Companies can also search the profiles of the candidates and engage them.

Benefits of Niryat Mitra Mobile App ?

The app data of 87 countries will help the artisans, cottage, micro, small, medium enterprises to be encouraged in terms of exporting their produce in a sustainable manner.

The launch of Niryat Mitra app is a step forward in Digital India to further increase the ease of doing business by enhancing the export interest in the country.

What is UMANG platform of TRAI

In a bid to provide some control over unwanted calls or SMS faced by consumers, Do not Call (DND) 2.0 and MyCall apps are launched by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and integrated with Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance (UMANG) platform.

What is UMANG platform ?

Using UMANG platform, Indian citizens can access all citizen eccentric services e-Gov services ranging from Central to local government bodies and other citizen eccentric services on a single platform.

UMANG already have more than 50 lakh downloads, now National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and TRAI have integrated DND 2.0 and MyCall App on the UMANG Android platform (app).

MyCall app of TRAI is an user friendly app to monitor crowd-sourced voice and call quality. Using the app TRAI can gather consumer experience data along with network data by providing the mobile phone users to rate their experience about voice call quality in real-time.

DND 2.0 is helpful in reporting spam messages or calls to avoid unsolicited commercial communication/ telemarketing calls/ SMS, mobile users can use the app to register their mobile number under DND.

UNESCO's list of World Network of Biosphere Reserve (WNBR)

Khangchendzonga reserve is included as the 11th reserve to UNESCO's list of World Network of Biosphere Reserve (WNBR). Other biospheres such as Nandadevi, Simlipal Biosphere reserve, Nilgiri etc are already in the list.

Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve is one of the highest ecosystems in the world having a range of ecoclines varying from subtropical to arctic. The biosphere also includes a vast natural forests in different biomes to support an immensely rich diversity of forest types and habitats.

India now have 11 out of total 18 biosphere reserves in the list of internationally designated WNBR.

86 per cent of the core area of Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve covering the southern and central landscape is situated in the Greater Himalayas while remaining 14 per cent area of northern part is situated in trans-Himalayas.

Khangchendzonga National Park was also designated as a World Heritage in 2016 under the "mixed" category. The area consists of 118 species of medicinal plants.

World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR)

World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR) under UNESCO, are internationally designated biosphere reserves that encourage sustainable development and demonstrate a balanced relationship between people and nature.

The World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR) mission works towards integration of people and nature for sustainable development and encourages societies to cope with climate change.

The network uses certain tools like participatory dialogue, knowledge sharing, poverty reduction, human well-being and cultural values to integrate people and nature in a harmonious manner.

Amazon to train local artisans : One District One Product scheme

In a bid to promote traditional industries in every district of the state, the Uttar Pradesh government recently launched "One District One Product" scheme with a tagline of "Nayi Udaan, Nayi Pehchan" at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.

What is One District One Product scheme ?

One District One Product scheme is aimed to give boost to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and cottage industries of Uttar Pradesh.

Loan papers amounting to Rs 1,006.94 crore are to be distributed to 4,085 artisans from 75 districts in the summit. Traditional industries synonymous with their respective districts will be promoted under the scheme to strengthen local economy and create jobs.

The scheme will also help in improving the product quality, optimise production & productivity and enhancing income and skill development. The scheme also aimed to providing employment to 25 lakh people in five years through the financial assistance of Rs 25,000 crores.

Under the scheme a memorandum of understandings (MoUs) is to be signed between UP government and e-retailer giant Amazon for marketing of products of artisans. Another MoU will be signed between UP Government and Quality Control of India (QCI) tto ensure quality of these products.

Artisans from several districts, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Ferozabad, Moradabad, Agra, Kanpur, Meerut, Bhadohi and Varanasi will be trained by Amazon on how to get their products listed on its marketing platform.

A number of MoUs are signed with e-commerce major Amazon, Wipro, GE Healthcare, Quality Circle of India (QCI) and the BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE). These entities would help the MSMEs and cottage industries by providing training, branding, marketing and other institutional support.
