What is National Health Stack (NHS) ?
National Health Stack (NHS), a shared digital healthcare infrastructure, proposed by NITI Aayog. The Stack will help in implementation of Centre's flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat and other public healthcare programmes in the country.
NHS will make it possible to collect comprehensive healthcare data across the country and can be used by both centre and states across public and private sectors.
Data collected and analysed by NHS will make it possible to detect fraud in health insurance, innovate and build relevant services by policy makers and market players (NGOs, researchers, watchdog organisations) to fill the gaps.
In NHS, every participant can be uniquely identified using a virtual health ID, this will also make the participant preserve their privacy when interacting with other users or stakeholders in the system.
The key components of the NHS includes electronic health registries, coverage and claims platform, digital health ID cards, federated personal health records (PHR) framework and the National Health Analytics Framework.
